Ratings, categories and series
Beyond your video and story, three tools give your experience structure: aspect ratings, categories, and series.
Aspect ratings
Instead of one star number, MyEx asks you to rate the product across specific aspects, each on a 1–5 star scale:
- Brand — how the brand lived up to its promise
- Quality — build, materials, durability
- Practical — how useful it is in real life
- Design — looks and ergonomics
- Convenience — comfort and ease of use
- Price — value for what you paid
You must rate at least 3 aspects (you can rate all 6). Only rate the aspects you actually have an opinion on — skipped aspects simply aren't counted.
MyEx combines your aspect ratings into a single overall score out of 5 (shown with two decimals) that appears on your experience.
Make your stars match your words. Reviewers check that your rating logically fits your written story — a glowing 5-star rating with a complaint-filled description (or the reverse) is a common reason an experience gets returned for revision.
Categories
Categories help people browsing MyEx find your experience. They're organized as a searchable tree — search for a keyword, then drill down through the levels (for example: Electronics → Kitchen → Blenders).
- Categories are optional — but a correct category makes your experience much more discoverable.
- Pick the most specific category that fits.
- Some categories are event categories (tied to a time-limited occasion). Choosing one turns your post into an event experience — note that event experiences skip aspect ratings and may expire when the event ends.
Series — multi-part experiences
A series groups related experiences together under one name, like episodes:
- "My kitchen renovation" — one experience per appliance
- "Testing this phone for 90 days" — updates over time
- "Trying every branch of this restaurant chain"
While writing an experience, tap Add series and either pick one of your existing series or create a new one with its own name and cover image. Readers who find one part can jump to the rest. You can remove an experience from a series at any time, and the series cover defaults to your latest experience's cover if you don't set one.
