How we verify reviews

Huling na-update 10/8/2026

This page explains who writes MyEx reviews, how they are checked before publishing, what automated tools do, and how MyEx earns money.

Who writes the reviews

Reviews on MyEx are written by people who used the product or service themselves. The reviewer films a short video of the product in the MyEx mobile app, adds photos, writes what happened, and rates it from 1 to 5 stars.

The video and photos must be the reviewer's own, not taken from the internet, a store listing or another creator.

What an auditor checks before publishing

Nothing on MyEx is published automatically. A submitted review waits as Pending Approval until a trained auditor who works in its language checks that:

  • The video is original, filmed by the reviewer, and actually shows the product.
  • The photos are clear and relevant.
  • The story matches the video and photos.
  • The star ratings match what was written.
  • The category is correct.

Before the review goes live, the person giving final approval must also confirm:

  • The cover image is taken from the reviewer's own video and shows no other brand's name or logo.
  • The buy links: each one was opened and shows the exact product in the review (same brand and model).

An auditor may fix the title, wording or category, but not the reviewer's opinion or meaning. Fixable problems are returned to the author with a written reason. Fake, copied or abusive content is rejected.

After publishing, an auditor re-checks the review's buy links and offers every 15 days.

Auditors are commission-based partners, not salaried staff. Each proves their identity with an official document, completes MyEx Academy training before auditing, and works only in the languages and dialects they were accepted for.

What automated tools do

  • Prohibited content. Automated tools help us detect prohibited content, and profanity in comments is hidden automatically. A trained person still decides whether each review is published.
  • Translation. A review stays in its original language. Readers of other languages see a machine translation, marked with its source language (for example "Translated from Arabic") and linked to the original.
  • FAQ answers. Some review pages have an FAQ section labelled "Answers written by MyEx from this review." MyEx writes these answers from what the reviewer said; they are not the reviewer's own words.

Rewards for reviewers

A reviewer may receive a cash reward, in Saudi riyals, in their MyEx wallet when their review is approved. Review pages say so: "Reviewers can receive a cash reward from MyEx when their review is approved."

How MyEx earns money

Many reviews carry buy links and discount codes for the store that sells the product, which the approving auditor may add. These links pass through a MyEx tracking address (my-ex.app/go/).

When you buy through one of these links or codes, MyEx may earn a commission from the store, and the auditor who checked that review earns a share of that commission.

Commission does not decide what gets published. A review is accepted or rejected on its content, and the rating and the opinion belong to the reviewer alone. A store or product appearing on MyEx is not a recommendation from us.

How to report a problem with a review

If a review looks fake, copied or misleading, or a buy link opens the wrong product, email support@my-ex.app with the review's link and a short description. Reviewers can also ask us to remove their own review there.
